Happy New Year's!!! 🥂

Good morning everyone, I hope everyone had a happy and safe New Year's eve as we all said goodbye to 2023 and hello to 2024.

Did you set any goals for the new year?

One goal I set for myself for 2024 is to crochet a new blanket and to finish it..... I do have a habit of not finishing some projects lol....

I'm sure by now everyone has heard of the Tempature blanket where you do a different color for each range of the temperature for the day, well I'm using almost the same concept, except I'm doing a different color for each month of the year. I'm using a total of 13 colors which include one color for the border and the separateating color and 12 colors for the different months. My goal is to crochet one row each day of the month, then do the separateating color before starting the new month. When finished I should have a total of 387 rows, not including the two board rows going all the way around.

December 31, 2023 I started my border rows, I did 4 rows in the color Frosting and today for January I did my first row in the color Sky Blue.

I'm using a stich called the Moss Stich for this project. (You can find tutorials on YouTube on how to make this stich.)

For the size of my project I chained a Total of 120 chains before starting my first row.

The hook size I decided to use is size 8 or H.

The yarn I'm using is by Yarn Bee that I purchased from Hobby Lobby.

Here are the yarn details for the first two colors:

Border and separateating color :

Color: Frosting

Weight: 3.5oz

Yard: 175

January :

Color: Sky

Weight: 3.5oz

Yards: 175

First day of each month I'll post an update on the project as well as the color of yarn I'm using.

I hope this year brings lots of joy and wonderful things for all of you. See you again February 1st.

God Bless.

Ann

MY STORY

MY STORY

My name is Ann and in 2013 my stepmother showed me some books she had purchased at Hobby Lobby on beading. As I looked them over, I thought to myself "What a fun project." It didn't take long for me to fall in love with making jewelry.

I then started making stuff for my friends and family, and then I thought maybe it would be a good way to earn a little extra cash. So, I created this site so I could share my creations with you.

I make jewelry, cards, sewing and crochet, candles, soaps and much more.

I am also an Author and go by Marie V. Doolittle.

In 2025 I added baked goods such as breads, muffins and cookies that i sell out of a Farm Stand.
